Celebrating the 50th Death Anniversary of Blessed Gabriele Allegra, OFM

Blessed Gabriele Allegra, who set up the Franciscan Sociological Centre here in Singapore in 1958, is the reason why the Franciscan friars are here in Singapore! That’s also why he is also the co-patron of our Custody here in Singapore and Malaysia.

Blessed Allegra is better known for his translation of the Bible into Chinese with a team of friars. 

He passed away in Hong Kong on 26 Jan 1976. So we commemorate his 50th death anniversary on 26 Jan this year with all Masses that day with the exposition and veneration of his relics. All are welcome!
