Catechism for children with special needs was introduced to St Mary’s to include these precious children of God into the community to learn and grow in their faith and love for Christ.
Over the years, the class has grown from one child to about eighteen children to date. Parents and siblings are encouraged to participate in the programme to journey as a family and reinforce Christ’s teachings at home.
Saturdays - 2:10pm to 3:10pm
During our programme, stories are told, songs are sung, and games are played. Through role-plays and rhymes, the children explore the art of communicating and radiating Christ’s love while interacting with the people they encounter. Craft activities highlight and bring about the messages of the catechism lesson. The children are encouraged to hang their crafts at home to remind them of the lessons that they have learnt.
The majority of the children have received their First Holy Communion and now have the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist with their family members.
