Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a parish-based program which seeks to “to develop in … children an appreciation of the word of God.” This is accomplished by gathering the children separately from the adults during Masses and using simplified Scripture texts and interactive preaching directed at increasing an understanding of the Scriptures in young children.

At St Mary’s of the Angels, all Primary 1 & 2 children attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CL) as part as their faith formation process. The main objective of CL is to get our children to fall in love with the person of Jesus through listening to the gospel . Through skits, videos, stories - we try to make the gospel come alive for the children and more importantly, to link the lessons that Jesus share with application in their daily lives. It is mass made accessible to the kids in a language they can understand.

Children have to register with the Catechetical Office in order to attend the CL sessions.
