WHAT IS VOICES FOR PEACE?Voices for Peace 2009 is the inaugural one-day interfaith event initiated by the Church of St. Mary of the Angels and Focolare Movement Singapore, supported by Harmony Centre and Taoist Federation Youth Group. The Church of St Mary of the Angels and Focolare Movement both initiated Voices for Peace as the inaugural interfaith event designed for the youth and young adults of Singapore. It serves as an engaging platform or “voice” for an intensive day of dialogue and activities focusing on Peace as presented from both interfaith and secular perspectives across individual lives, community and the world-at-large. The event includes a special photographic and artistic exhibition, leveraging on visual arts as one of the universal expression of Peace. “Working For Peace, Moving Beyond Tolerance”. It is our hope that this initiative builds momentum to promote sustainability, setting it apart from the myriad of one-off, feel-good interfaith events. |
