Heartspace @ St Mary’s

HeARTspace @ St.Mary’s is an art therapy ministry provided by the parish of St. Mary of the Angels.

Through the creative process of image making and reflection, it has helped individuals from all walks of life explore emotions, life issues and express their faith within a therapeutic group setting. It offers individuals a chance to connect with people and feel supported when life becomes challenging, lonely or confusing; a space to reflect, rest, create, be inspired and find life direction. Sessions are facilitated by resident art therapist Joanna Tan BA, MA (Art Th) AATR (registered).

This year, weekly sessions are structured in blocks of 6, each with a special theme and focus. Although thematic, participants will be given the space to explore as freely as they like or share as much as they want. Special projects like retreats and an art exhibition are also organized (see attached for details).

Artistic ability is not a prerequisite. The focus is on the creative process rather than on the finished image as a work of art. Come as you are. Basic materials are provided. Participants are encouraged to make a love offering of $10 per week.
