Thank You, Lord

Today has been quite a long and tiring day for me. And I am pretty sure that some of you who are reading this are feeling the same way. =P Be it because of the long day at work, school, or because of the worries that we have for the future (busy looking for jobs, thinking of how to earn enough money to sustain our life, etc), I believe that there is at least one reason for us to complain about today.

However, I suddenly remember what Ria said during the PW session in one of the Emmaus Prayer Meetings that I attended a few weeks (or months?) ago. (Ria was the worship leader at that time)

As we were about to start the PW session, she asked us to put aside our work, our anxieties and our tiredness from our mind. She invited us to, instead, think about the blessings and the good things that He has given to us as she led us to sing this very beautiful song.

Thank You Lord

I come before you today
And there's just one thing that I want to say
Thank you lord
Thank you lord
For all you've given to me
For all the blessings that I cannot see
Thank you lord
Thank you lord

With a grateful heart
With a song of praise
With an outstretch arm
I will bless your name
Thank you lord
I just wanna thank you lord
Thank you lord
I just wanna thank you lord
Thank you lord

For all you've done in my life
You took my darkness and gave me your light
Thank you lord
Thank you lord
You took my sin and my shame
You took my sickness and healed all my pain
Thank you lord
Thank you lord

Somehow after I listened to this song, I felt recharged again. It made me realize that the Lord has blessed me abundantly, despite all the difficulties or problems that I am facing. And often, I forget to thank Him for the blessings that I cannot see.

Last Friday, during the Pentecost Seminar, Fr. Faricy also said that we should praise God not only for the good things, but also for the bad things that happen in our lives. Who knows that, maybe these bad things will turn into a blessing in disguise in the future.

So I hope that this song may empower all of you again, just like how it has done to me. And thanks to the Emmaus Worship team who could always brought me closer to the Father through the wonderful PW sessions.

So, yes Lord, thank You for being that kind of God, for being that kind of Father who has always been blessing me with Your abundant love in my life. I love you, Father.

Thanks Irma

Thanks Irma for your sharing. This is great encouragement for The Emmaus worship team. Indeed, yesterday had been a long day for me but there are always (hidden) blessings from Him that I can't see.

It is love alone

Hi Irma,

Thanks for the sharing. I just read your sharing while downloading the latest free song from spiritandsong.com, and it's actually this song:

And both the song and your sharing really testify on God's great and generous love :)

Dear Lord, it seems to be
that You love us madly.
You have given us these lives to live;
we have turned away.
O Lord, how can it be
that for all our turning,
You should call us to yourself again
and with grace redeem?

It is love alone, love alone.
It is love alone, love moves You,
love moves You.

thankssss :)

@valent: your welcome! :)
