About Bishop Joe Grech

Bishop Joe Grech, a very dynamic preacher was born in Malta in 1948. He was ordained in Australia in 1974. During his first appointment as assistant priest, he received the prayer for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit from his parish priest. Consequently, he formed charismatic prayer groups in all the five parishes he served.

Over many years, he has been involved in leadership capacity to many charismatic prayer groups in many parts of Australia. In 1993, he was appointed as full time chaplain to Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) in the Archdiocese of Melbourne and is also a member of the Australian National Service Committee for CCR. He has also been speaker for both local as well as international seminars, retreats, conferences and rallies. Has been ICCRS Council member since 2001, and is also in the ISAO Executive Committee. Besides preaching and ministering the Baptism in the Holy Spirit to the participants at the recent World Youth Day, he was also one of the presenters in the recent “International Colloquim for charisms” held in Rome, and organized by the Pontifical Council for the Laity.
