True Disciple of God

I like the session that Basil brought. It was so funny yet the content is chunky. There are lots of things I can take note. First is how we are like leaves that are only able to hang on a tree to get supported for life and everything. And the tree which is God will give us everything, so we don’t have to worry anything.

Then Basil also talked about the three little pigs and how he kept saying: “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!” and “then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in” just like telling the story (you know the story), but with sad ending that the two first pigs were eaten by the wolf in sheep clothing and yet Basil said the last pig lived happily ever after. But I heard another ending that the two pigs ran away to the last pig with the brick house and were also saved. I supposed that’s a better ending, Basil. Haha.

Then we discussed about Matthew 7:21-27: those who only say Lord, Lord may not enter the kingdom of heaven but those who do God’s will may and that we have to be like a wise man who built his house on rock so when storm comes it won’t collapse like how our faith supposed to be. This is a part of the sermon on the mountain where Jesus also taught about the Beatitude and Our father, how God taught us to “pray like this”. Jesus taught us the true foundation and true disciple.

We should also hear and do, not just hear but don’t do; like the porn star who asked and was so keen to learn to his ethic professor, but in the end the professor did not admit him as his student because he never did as what he had learned. He did not put it in practice. And so if we heard what God ask us but don’t do it or believe but don’t want to do what He command, then that is disobedience and ignorance. It is like what in Matthew 21:28-32: the son who say do but don’t do and the other son who say don’t want to do but do. We should not only say, but also do it.

So we should listen, believe, do, teach and also “ooze” to be God’s true disciple. We listen to God’s word and believe it as believing is the beginning of faith as in our profession of faith. To do is to cement, live and follow Jesus and to teach other, we must apply it to ourselves first and lastly, to ooze just like Basil’s friend who does adoration everyday before and after work. His holiness makes us want to do more like reading bible and praying to Him more. And at 3 o’clock we must not stay sleepy after our lunch, but to do our best as how Jesus suffered to the peak at the cross. I hope I can start to do like that too.
