Reflection of the 6th session : The Eucharist: the center of our lives

Firstly, I want to thank God because of His guidance that I can finish all my assignments,,yay :D

The session last Saturday was about the sacrament of Eucharist, as the center of our lives. The session was started with worship session and prayers which leaded by Maya. She taught some dance moves to follow the song of the blind man. This song is about the blind man who wants to see the truth, and Jesus told him that He is the light, the truth and the way to go home...... (baby a a a a... :P). It was a very joyful song that everyone who sing and followed the dance be moved to smiled. Also, the song Deeper in Love is the song that I used to like to sing but I don't know the lyrics. I just listen to this song for long time ago and I can only sing Deeper in love with You, deeper in love with You.......without knowing the full lyrics. But now I can sing it completely...thank you so much :).

And then the session continued with teaching session from Oka. He showed the picture of a miracle that happened during a mass. The great thing is that the body of Christ or the host, turned into real human flesh and the wine which is the blood of Christ which was represented turned into real blood. It was quite hard for me to believe but even scientific evidence has proofed this case to be true.

As the one that should be the center of my life, Eucharist sometimes unknowingly placed somewhere in my life. My life is much too concern about me, as the number one priority, my parents, my school, my hobbies (facebook, hangout, korean musics, etc), and my friends and so on and that’s why I feel that I am so self centered. When I put myself first, I rely on my own strength. I sometimes forget to put Jesus as the prority in my life, but as times goes by, I want to put him as the number one who is in my life. When I put Him as the center in my life, many things changes. I become to see things become clearer and bright. Everything become easier and I found peace in my life, the peace that would not come from anything in this world. I could build a better relationship with Him, parents, friends and self.

Without receiving the body and blood of Christ, I feel like the mass is not complete yet. I remember my experience when I came into a non-catholic church with my mother because she is not a Catholic. At the end, I still go back to Catholic Church because I always long for receiving the body of Christ. There is in the Bible which said that everyone who eats the body and blood of Christ shall live forever. Because of this Eucharist I feel that every time I received Him, I renew my relationship with God and the relationship comes stronger and stronger. Now, I know that He is in me and that I am in Him. This has strengthen my faith in Him, to keep believe and give all my weaknesses in Him. One thing to do if we want to love Him more is through the Eucharist.

As a Catholic, we should be proud of our church tradition of Eucharist. This sacrament of Eucharist has been endowed with us since the beginning of the church, hasn't it? We should be grateful to Him that our Catholic church sustains this tradition until now. It is quite unique because as a catholic, we receive the body and blood of Christ every week. Even if somebody wants, they can receive the Eucharist every day in every week. This shows that God is merciful. He always open the way for people who wants to be closer to Him.

I hope we can always share His love to everyone, even the one who is not in our community and serve them as the Lord loves us by sacrificing Himself on the cross to redeem us.

may He always bless us.
