Every believer, regenerated in Christ,
no matter in what part of the world he may be,
breaks with that ancient way of life that derives from original sin,
and by rebirth, is transformed into a new man.
St. Leo the Great, 5th century
t3- Session 5
Another wonderful session. =)
I love how Mark Hart separates all the different personages in the Bible and describes them as a picture of (insert something). David, the Portrait of Courage, Joseph, Portrait of Forgiveness, Rachel, Portrait of Prayer. In each person, we find something to learn and remember as we go through the day.
Something questions that are really worth asking:
Do we rely more on our own talents, or on the glory of God?
I guess its ironic how in the ups and downs of life, we tend to claim the ups and the successes and the general happiness for ourselves and tend to forget that God has gifted us with this ability and the success. well, at least for me. and then, when we are in the downs of life, we blame God and ask why and everything else.
Its easy to claim credit, or to blame, but we should lift up BOTH our joys and happiness to the Lord, and remember to give thanks and praise for the wonderful things that He has helped us achieve.
Who's your Goliath? and what are you five stones to combat that Goliath?
and more personally, am I really willing to allow god in my life, to trust Him as David did, to support him and triumph in God's glory and in God's name.
and, our group touched a little on a few things that can help us combat the Goliath in our lives: prayer, fasting, and so on. And how we hunger for many things but God, and fasting helps us remember God. how true.
And this struck me the most.
If you can't say no, then the yes means nothing.
Really, this is so applicable to life, when I keep kidding myself that I can and will let go of something or do something when actually I can't say no, although i THINK that i can do it. in theory, but not in practice. (oooh that sounds dangerously like smoking or drugs. but im not in any those ok!)
Here's to a few more days till we meet again!

You know, a great exercise,
You know, a great exercise, is to actually close your eyes and picture yourself walking down a hallway. I was doing that the first time I watched the show.
It was easier cos it was at night, my imagination was stronger. It was like a long hallway in the house, maybe a corridor leading to rooms, and on each side of the walkway, the walls had photos up of my old relatives...
Adam, Ah... the first... then Abraham, oh yeah, my ancestor Abraham who built an ark and saved the world, he heard God and he believed, David who was so brave.. and Oh, there's Uncle Joseph who had a terrible misdeed done unto him and he forgave the ppl who did it... or Aunt Rachel who was always so prayerful...
Actually picture yourself walking down a hallway and looking at family portraits.. quite a unique feeling.. never saw Biblical chracters that way before this.
P.S. Great observation on the 'If you can't say no, then yes really means nothing'... You start to realise why God gave us the priviledge of Freewill.
"Truth Himself speaks truly, or there's nothing true."
