Reflection about Growth

Hallo,

Last Saturday topic was about “Growth”. We heard that how we suppose to growth our faith. I agree with the experiment brought by Christine about Coca Cola. Sometimes after we received Baptism in the Spirit, suddenly we are on fire. We really want to worship and glorify His name in everything we do. However, the problem that may arise is the continuation after that. Do we still thirst of His words after a while? For me, it happens often. After quite some time, I just come back to my normal life where I’m not on fire anymore. I act like before I receive Baptism in the Spirit.

Like what I’ve learned from the session, we can grow our spiritual life through prayer, community, scripture, service and sacraments. Those are really important to keep us on fire most all the time. For me, being able to join Emmaus is one of the ways. We can have fun together while we worship His name. Rather than pray alone, it’s just nice to do it together. So, I invite all of you to join us (a little advertisement here hehe). I like 3 sentences in the Commitment Prayer which are:

That I may find new meaning in your Scriptures
That I may find new meaning in the sacraments
That I may find delight and comfort in prayer

I expect through this YISS, I can learn these 3 things. Hope that we can grow in Him more and more as time goes by.

Henry ^^

my desire as well

thank you henry for sharing. I also experienced that, sometimes we are on high wanting to follow God, then after a while the enthusiasm will go down. I learnt to build my faith not just on feelings and emotions. I am still learning. It is my desire also to always find a new meaning in the Word of God and the sacraments. It is my prayer also to find delight and comfort in prayer. Thank you.

Time in silence...

Nice sharing, bro...:)

Yes, I agree also with Christine about the parable of coca cola. It represent a lot about our faith also.
Same like Oka, I am also still learning about how to maintain my faith in God, not even maintain, but also build it.

Because sometime, our feelings and emotions make our heart cannot see clearly and hear clearly about what God's want in our life and make our own standard about God Himself. That's why we need to worship Him in silence and try to listen to Him and we need to have a time in silence also inside our heart even in our daily activity, because i realized that sometime we also not only busy with our physical activity but we also busy inside our heart.

Let's our desire become our passion to find Him in sacrament and prayer.

Have a blessed day, guys...
