Makes you think of Christianity in Asia

The novel, I have to admit, is interesting. It shows the struggle of a man who loves Jesus. At the end he chose to trample the face of the one he loves. It is interesting to know why, and you will find by reading the book.

Yet, I find the argument by the Japanese authority in this book is not strong. The Japanese authority argued that the christianity is defeated not by him, but the swamp of Japan where it will absorp and change everything that is put in it. In the earlier conversation with the priest, he argued that christianity in Japan is like planting a sapling in a wrong soil. But then at the end, I don't know whether it is purposely or not, he admitted that he has cut the roots by cutting the access of priests and missionaries. So in the end it is what he is doing just like the priest has argued in the first place: the sappling cannot grow because no fertilizer is given, the roots are cut, and the plant are destroyed.

And yet, it is amazing through such difficult period, we can still see Christian even today. The Lord is truly amazing!
