A great biography
I always like the story of the saints. In this book, St John Vianney story is unfolded and I get to know his life more, such as how he is a "tailor", really suits the penance of everyone that comes before him for confession, and how there are many miracles attributed to him, but he often said that it is St Philomena intercession that contributes to the miracles.
A great reading also to improve your English vocabulary! :)

This is not an A-Z narration
This is not an A-Z narration of the Saint's life... the author had given some historical background/facts at intervals.
Despite the bombastic vocab/writing style, this book is a good read-very touched by St John Vianney's humility, his love for God and people. Amazed by his meagre diet yet had such strength to do so much. Seems like the majority of the later part of his priesthood was spent listening to the confessions. His priesthood was not a bed of roses... he was looked down upon, criticised by ple who were jealous of him and also the disturbances by the devil.
Somehow after reading, realised that we should alwz keep all the ple in the religious order esp the priests in prayer (in the past i felt they were informidable and couldnt give a hoot). Society look up to them as models and it is really sad if any of them fails.
