Great Adventure Bible Seminar

Our parish will be hosting a nationwide Great Adventure Bible Seminar this July 24-25th.
A GOD WHO SPEAKS
"Speak Lord, your servant is listening." 1 Samuel 3:9
For the first time, Thomas Smith, an internationally acclaimed scripture scholar, has been invited to Singapore to illuminate the Word over two amazing days in July. Thomas will be focusing on this year's Bible Sunday theme, 'A God Who Speaks', revealing the voice of God as spoken through the prophets of the Old Testament up to the Book of Revelation.
Also, exclusive sessions on the New Evangelisation and Christian Discipleship will be held for youth and young adults (13-35) on July 26th.
Registration for the seminar is open to all in the archdiocese. Please forward this email circular to your friends and spread the word around for this seminar. Register soon as seats may be limited!

PROGRAMME SUMMARY
Many parishes in Singapore have started on the renowned Great Adventure Bible study programme. Thomas Smith, as a significant contributor to the popular programme (he co-wrote and presented the Book of Revelation study), is excited to come down and share with us in-person even more insights from Scripture.
The theme for this year's archdiocesan Bible Sunday is "A God Who Speaks" and Thomas will focus on this very topic, concentrating on the voice of God through the Prophets of the Old Testament and the fulfillment of these prophecies leading up to the Book of Revelation. There will also be a strong link between the writings of Revelation and the sacrament of the Mass.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Thomas' clear and enthusiastic style will ensure that both the experienced and the first-timers will have much to gain and be fascinated by during this weekend.
Participants who are familiar with the "Bible Timeline" concept which he builds upon, who have been through the "Quick Journey Through the Bible" and the "Great Adventure" programs will benefit from a wider scope and deeper details customised specially for this Singapore seminar.
For participants who are not familiar with the "Bible Timeline" concept, it will be a great opportunity to be introduced to it 'live' by a trained expert, and spur immense interest in joining a full-fledged Great Adventure Bible study in their own parish after the seminar.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Thomas Smith was raised as a 7th generation Mormon, later ordained a Protestant minister, and received into the Catholic Church in 1996.

He is the co-author of “Adventures in Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come” and an international presenter for the Great Adventure Bible Timeline. Thomas has taught as an adjunct professor at the St. Francis School of Theology in Denver, and is the former Director of the Denver Catholic Biblical School.
Thomas lives on his family ranch in south-eastern Idaho where he farms and writes for his website http://www.gen215.org and the Catholic News Agency.
