I suggest that we should invite the rest of the youth and young adult communities to join the forum :) I don't see that this forum should only benefit the Emmausian. We are meant for others :)

yea, so let's inform the leaders net, Keenan, Char, and when the time is right, put it into the bulletin, or even tomorrow newspaper! Why not?

Restructuring

Opening the forum to the rest of youth and young adult communities is a good idea. I guess the forum just needs some restructuring before we can open the forum to the rest of youth and young adult communities. Because Abigail and I initially created the categories of the forum just to cater for The Emmaus people.

Maybe it's good to ask Keenan, Charlene, Lyndley, etc first and ask for their suggestions.

How about the rest? What do you think?

Hey, I am not sure how to

Hey, I am not sure how to improve the forum also. My experience with forums are very limited and normally also ending in disaster lol yeah! But definitely if you open it wide enough it would be very useful.

the categories of the forum

Oh, it's the categories of the forum itself, because currently we divide it into two main category: for Emmaus (announcement, introduction, events, prayer meetings, suggestions) and general chat. The rest of youth and young adult ministries might not really be interested in the first section of the forum.

Should we create a forum container for each youth and young adult ministry? Or should we leave it as it is? But if we create a container for each ministry, it will be quite a long list.

The good thing of opening the forum to the rest of youth and young adult ministries is that we provide a platform for them to communicate. They might be willing to contribute more because the people lurking around the forum are the ones that they know or at least in the ministries. It is different to general forum out there when people might not even know each other or have not met the other forum members.

Oh I don't think the forum

Oh I don't think the forum needs to be restructured at all.

The forums are there for us to communicate and discuss and act as a bulletin board for announcements and events.

I'm sure we wouldn't mind inviting other people to participate in it, however since it's on the Emmaus site most of our discussion will centre around the prayer meetings and events within our group.

In regards to the Youth and Young Adult communities then a larger, more general forum would be more ideal. Perhaps something hosted on the Youth and Young Adult website (is there a general website?).

I don't know if I'm making any sense at this hour, but for now I think we should make our forum a bit more active for our own members first before thinking of expanding, that being said I don't think any of us have any qualms with people outside the group participating in our discussions :)

Makes sense

@Abby: That makes sense. I guess we do not need to restructure the forum. Just need to spread out the information that The Emmaus forum exists to the youth and young adult ministries in St Mary. :)

I also agree that we should make The Emmaus forum a bit more active. I would say that this is already quite a good start as there are more people participating in the forum compared to before when there was no forum at all. We might want to convince Emmausians to make this website as the homepage when they launch their browser. Just an idea.
