Hello World!

Hi everyone!
This is Abby... or more formally known as Abigail.
You can call me either I'm not fussy. You can spell my name whichever way you like, except when you're writing me a cheque ;).
I accept "Abi", "Abbie", "Aby", "Abyy" but not "Ebi" or "Abeehh".
Now that we've come to an agreement I shall tell you how I joined Emmaus.
It was a fateful day while volunteering for Paul the Musical, I met Vincent. He was a friendly well-mannered gentleman and helped me to set up the huge banners. Then out of the blue he said "This is the life..." and I instantly thought that we could become friends for it seems he liked to chill, and I like to chill too.
The next time we met he thrust a piece of paper into my hand about the upcoming YISS and said "Come come!" and I said "Maybe..."
Eventually I caved in and went... and as you can see I never left. :)
And I learnt so much as well... everyone had such enlightening talks especially the one with the soft voice and looks a little like Professor Calculus (I'm sorry but that was my first impression >.<)
In the end I believe it was the fellowship that got me to stay. Everyone was so genuine and sincere and fun with each other I instantly felt like I fit in... or maybe it was the free food because if I recall there was always food at the end of YISS :P
Anyway I mustn't bore you all with my story. I just want to say that I'm really happy to have found a group of great people that I enjoy being with AND learning about my Catholic faith at the same time, and for me this is very very rare.
So thank you everyone for making me feel at home and I look forward to serving as your new co-ordinator for Media and Communications ministry.
^_^v
What kind of cap is that?
Chill ministry? Sounds great, haha. Provided there is enough fund =P.
If I'm not wrong, it's the "newspaper boy" cap.. Not sure what is the right name to call it.. haha
The cap caught my attention too, cos it's not often ppl wer cap at night.. hehe
Is Professor Calculus Oka? hahahaha ;P
Everyone was so genuine and sincere and fun
It's so well said Abby, I feel the same thing as you (though honestly I wasn't so immediately hooked to Emmaus, I've come and go few time. tell u the story next time)
I refuse to believe that little professor calculus is me! :p
@Oka: the descriptions mentioned seems to fit you
@Ria: we demand you share your story, haha...
My cap is a flat cap. And yes Elizabeth, it seems odd to wear a cap at night but there was a time in the last century that one had to wear headgear at all times, to be seen hatless was almost immoral. (here's a discussion for the Modesty thread)
Valent: Of course there will be enough funds for the Chill Ministry... for the best things in life are free. :)
Ria: We would love to hear your story! Please share.
Oka: It's a compliment... of sorts :)

I got you at, "This is the life"?!?!
Weh.. I dont remember it like that.. I knew it was my charm and appeal that lured you to Emmaus.. Ahahahaha.. or maybe Im day-dreaming again..
First time I saw you, I noticed the cap.. Yup! the Cap.. And I thought this girl is cool coz no one else seems to wear that cap like you do.. "The girl with the cap", I remembered you from Day One..
From Paul to Emmaus to Logos, I enjoyed this journey with you, Abby.. Maybe we can start a "Chill Ministry", I dont know, maybe Im talking non-sense again.. Hehehehe..
Happy serving Abby!
I see you, Brother... thank you. [kills prey] Your spirit will now be with Eywa, but your body will remain for The People. - Jake Sully
