I wanted to listen to some songs in office, so I just happen to browse spiritandsong. Then I came across this song preview from Steve Angrisano's album Inescapable Love.

I haven't finish listening to all the songs. But one song that struck me was Plow Your Row. I kinda remember a chat I had with Oka and Maya quite sometime ago. We were joking about this Pope that woke up in the middle of the night saying to himself, "I need to tell something important to the pope. Wait... I am the pope." I can't remember which pope it was. Oka shared the full story it was because this pope thinks a lot about God's church. So after that the pope just say, "This is your church God. I'm going to sleep". Haha... Ya... this song reminds me of this story.

Here's the lyric with the very limited listening capability I have. Haha.

Plow Your Row (by Steve Angrisano)

I've heard it's said that everyone no matter who he is
Grows older as the minutes pass like any other man
And every man was formed from dust to ashes he will go
It seems to me that all he need to do is plow his row

So you just plow your row
What ever you'd given the seed is yours to sow
It's not yours to worry if your land seems great or small
For it's God who counts the harvest
So you just plow your row

I've heard it's said that gentle hands of love can change the world
A tree is born of humble earth and deeply planted things
The hands that plant that tree will never see its branches grow
It seems to me that all you need is to plow your row

And it may seems so little as you scatter seeds around
Leave them to the rain and wind and pray the sun comes down
But miracle are born from just a piece of broken ground and the plower
So you just plow, plow your row

The part we must play

Thank Christine for sharing. I just remember the following verses from 1 Cor 3:5-9:

What is Apollos, after all, and what is Paul? Ministers through whom you became believers, just as the Lord assigned each one. I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused the growth. Therefore, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who causes the growth. The one who plants and the one who waters are equal, and each will receive wages in proportion to his labor. For we are God's co-workers; you are God's field, God's building.

I think it relates to how each one of us should play our role and just do it while trusting in the Lord, just like Paul and Apollos doing their roles as God's instruments but it's God that causes the faith to grow.

"To have courage for whatever comes in life - everything lies in that." (St Teresa of Avila)

We are God's co-workers and God's field

Hey bro, thanks for quoting that sripture. It was one of the scripture passage I was trying to find. I thank God for giving us that previllage of trusting him with our work. =)

Something interesting: we are God's co-workers => his friends, God's field => his sheeps, god's building => his temple. Wow...
