Here you can login to public The Emmaus chat channel. To begin, choose a nickname and click "Connect". After that, you can treat of it as a 'lounge' where people can come and go and chat.

There are several stuff you might want to do specifically:

1. To change nickname, type /nick newnickname,
2. To 'ping' someone in the channel, include the username of the person you want to send the message in the message that you type. You can press tab while typing the username for the autocomplete to take effect,
3. To send a private message in a separate window tab, click on the username on the right side, then choose 'query' option. This will open a new tab and you can have the conversation there.
4. To register your nickname, you can refer to this page: http://freenode.net/faq.shtml#nicksetup. It is recommended to register your nickname so that you can use your nickname over and over again.
