Give me a King, Like other Nations

This is a reflection from 1 Sm 8:4-7, 10-22a, which is the first reading on Friday, 15 january.

This is a story when Samuel was the judge of Israel who was preceded by Eli. Prior to Samuel time as a judge, Israel were defeated twice by Philistine and the Ark of the Covenant was stolen by them. Samuel reconciled the Israel before God and Philistine was defeated.

Logos, Genesis 1-11

Here is a summary of what I've learnt during session 2 of the teen timeline, based on Genesis Chapt 1-11.

Gen 1-3
1. The first half of Gen 1:6 can be contrasted to an event that happened to Jesus. What is the event? How are they contrasted?

Reflection on The Teen Timeline by Logos

Here is a snapshot of what I've learnt during Logos.

1) Why did the Isrealites keep losing their way in the desert for 40 days? Because Man was leading themselves and did not ask for directions from God. (so, basically, it relfects upon our daily life, that we have to depend on God not just on our own abilities. With God, the impossible becomes possible!)

2) The bible is a collection of books and it consists of 46 Old Testaments and 26 New Testaments. 14 narrative books and 59 supplemental books. The bible is the word of god, which is what God inspired.
