What is a Youth In the Spirit Seminar and why should I attend it?
Youth in the Spirit Seminar (LISS) is one of the many ways to help you find God fully alive in your daily lives. The purpose of YISS are: to establish or re-establish a loving relationship with God the Father, to grow in an intimate relationship with Jesus, the Word of God, to be open to the works of the Holy Spirit in your daily lives, as well as to introduce you to a life of community and service, particularly in your local parish.
In short, YISS helps you to rediscover the New Life that God has given through the sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. However, we have to emphasize that YISS is just a programme. God is the principal author who alone can touch and change your life. It's a life changing experience, only if you allow God to work in your life.
What do I do in YISS?
YISS is designed to enable you to experience God through a series of prayers, short talks, real-life testimonies, and group sharings.
The sessions usually begin with a short prayer and songs, and continue with short talks. The talks give you the basic Gospel message of Christianity and to prepare you to rediscover the meanng of your Baptism. They also equip you with the basic tools on how you can start growing in your spiritual life.
In the sessions you will also hear other peoples' testimonies about their lives and how they discover God. Not only that, you will also have the chance to share your life in a small sharing group. Your life is important in God's eyes, and it's important for us as well.
When it will be held?
Weekly sessions: 12th and 19th June, 7.45pm, classroom 2, Church of St Mary of the Angels.
